RN to BSN Degrees
BSN stands for Bachelor of Science in nursing whereas RN stands for registered nurse. There are currently two types of registered nursing degrees being offered by colleges and universities in the US. You can gain an associate's degree in nursing or a bachelors of science in nursing. An Associate’s degree takes around two years for completion whereas a bachelors of science in nursing takes approximately 4 years or more for completion. Whether you pursue an Associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree, both require you to take a certified examination before being qualified as a registered nurse. In order to be registered as a professional RN, nursing students have to take and qualify the national Council licensure examination NCLEX-RN.
