Grand Canyon University is a privately owned and operated Christian university located at the heart of Phoenix, Arizona, U.S. The university was founded as a charitable organization in 1949 by Baptist population of Southern Arizona. Grand Canyon University was created with an aim to provide local Baptist residents with quality post-secondary education. The institution has a dedicated staff of approximately sixteen hundred people, led by the president of the Grand Canyon University, Dr. Kathy Player.

Grand Canyon University through its extensive educational network provides various online and on-campus postgraduate programs in education, liberal arts, fine arts, nursing, business and health sciences. Its six primary departments are as follows:

Grand Canyon University has an approximate enrollment of over twenty-five thousand students, working towards their desired undergraduate and graduate degree qualifications. The university is accredited by The Higher Learning Association of the North Central Association, and also has a business school nationally accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs. Grand Canyon University offers these certified educational programs through its only campus situated in Downtown Phoenix, Arizona.
